Journey: A Novel, by Andrew Zimmerman, is the first volume of a trilogy. Paul is dreaming and scheming to become the next CEO of Ascendant―a New York-based tech giant. He’s so close to the prize now. Never mind the personal cost of neglecting everything―his family and himself―in the race to the top.

Then a short vacation to Glastonbury, England, interrupts his fast-paced life. Not only do Paul’s friends introduce him to the rich history of this ancient village, but also he has a mystical experience that changes the course of his life.

Glastonbury is the counterpoint to Paul’s elite corporate day job. Its modest shops and businesses cater to spiritual seekers, not corporate ladder-climbers. There, Paul rubs shoulders with would-be witches, echoes of spirits and druids, and burned-out hippies.

Like many seekers before him, the Tor attracts Paul. The energy of this nearby hill―said to be the mythical Isle of Avalon—is irresistible. Before we know it, Paul meets a beautiful soul reader, Christine. Soon, she reads his soul and plants the seeds that turn his life upside down.

When he returns to New York, his wife, Mary, is skeptical. His journey both scares and intrigues her. She watches warily as he struggles to navigate between the business and spiritual worlds, while rekindling their relationship.

A series of synchronistic events draws Paul closer to Glastonbury and Christine. These experiences compel him and a reluctant Mary to return, unaware that their lives will never be the same.
